IBS, the innovative ion implantation solutions company serving the semiconductor industry, today announced that Dr. Olivier Vatel has joinedas Chief Executive Officer.
Olivier will lead IBS to execute on its strategy to become a global leading ion implantation company addressing high growth specialty semiconductor applications, with the support of its shareholder Ardian Semiconductor, the pioneering private equity investment platform dedicated to the semiconductor industry, formed through an exclusive strategic partnership between Ardian and Silian Partners.
Olivier brings more than 30 years of semiconductor industry leadership experience covering both R&D and manufacturing functions.
Through his career and prior to joining IBS, Olivier served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions, a major semiconductor equipment company, based in Kyoto, Japan. He held numerous executive and engineering roles in semiconductor manufacturing foundries and IDMs with GlobalFoundries and Freescale Semiconductor, across the US and Europe, taking part in starting up and ramping multiple leading edge semiconductor fabs. He is joining IBS from the semiconductor and AI division of IBM Research based in Albany, New York.
Olivier holds a PhD in materials science from University Aix-Marseille II.
